Tidying up and organizing a messy room, floor, shelf, garage or even an entire home can be a boring, time consuming and an even stressful task that seemingly keeps reappearing every few days, weeks or months. Despite this, for most these tasks still can be completed without much or any assistance at all. Simply the ability of moving an item from point A to point B in order to organize an area seems like an easy task. However for many others these ‘seemingly’ easy tasks that life ‘demands of us’ are not so easy.
For some, physical limitations or difficulties make the tasks of tidying up and organizing items, even on a small scale a challenge, let alone one or multiple rooms. Then there’s the mental energy (desire or motivation), time poor skills or lacking a vision of where and how things can be organized that can contribute to the difficulty of decluttering and organizing. Perhaps a current, more important matter or situation in one’s life allows for no time to declutter, or perhaps there has been an unexpected change in circumstances that requires a home declutter. We all require support at various times in a various ways for a variety of reasons. It often seems like the no-so-gift ‘gift’ that keeps on giving.
This can, and often is, a very large source of anxiety for so many people affecting their motivation and mood, which limits their overall functioning and leaves them feeling overwhelmed and shut down. These struggles can originate from a lack of time, patience, desire, and difficulty with certain tasks around their home from a sense of feeling overwhelmed. But I don’t believe they have to.
I believe when one needs help, even with the smallest of tasks, there is no shame in asking because everyone has different strengths. I understand how challenging certain tasks and ‘life demands’ can have on mental, emotional, psychological and even physical well-being. I know this can lead to a sense of isolation and a loss of connection to friends, family, community and even to one's self. This sense of feeling of disconnection prevents one from living freely. As a result the stress levels rise, social and personal involvement for things once enjoyed drop, often leaving one feeling disconnected and shutdown.
I want to see you do more of the things that you enjoy rather than struggling and trying to ‘power through’ things that drains your energy and you weigh them down in life, especially on a daily basis. Achieving these small victories of the day can and will add up to an overall shift if selected supports are received. This is why my goal is to support you by combining my unique way of thinking and perception, attention to detail along with my various skill sets to reduce your ‘to-do list’ and offering support where support in needed.
My goal is to offer support tailored to you because I am mindful of the help and disability challenges you may face. I want to support you to develop a life where you feel and live more connected with what matters most to you and if I can somehow provide and support you in achieving that goal, then I would consider my job to have been a success.
